Baan K Residence

Paolo and I have this tradition of going out of town/country to celebrate our anniversary. For 2012, we decided to go to Bangkok. Both of us were first timers and had no itineraries whatsoever. The goal of our trip was to enjoy, have fun and shop like there's no tomorrow! ;)

We left Manila early morning of July 31, 2012 but our flight got delayed for almost 3 hours because of tropical cyclone 'Gener' also known internationally as 'Saola'. It’s off peak season and I really love travelling during this time 'coz of the cheaper hotel/tour rates plus the crowd is lesser than the usual.

Anyway, we arrived at our hotel after lunch. We made advance bookings through Asiatravel.com and stayed with Baan K Residences. I’ve read reviews about this hotel and I would have to agree that it was hard to find the hotel for the first time ‘coz some cab drivers were not familiar with the Soi Sathorn 2 area.

Tourism maps aren't as specific as the one from Google.

Baan K Residence for me was the perfect place for those who want to experience real vacation in Bangkok, Thailand. Our room was upgraded from Studio to One Bedroom Superior . Thanks again Baan K! The location’s a bit far away from where the action (malls, night markets, temples, etc.) is but its ok. The nearest station was Lumphini MRT and Sala Daeng BTS. But personally, I’d recommend taking the Lumphini MRT since its nearer the hotel compared to the BTS. Don’t worry though, the hotel offers a free tuk-tuk ride going to Sala Daeng BTS.

They offer free tuk-tuk rides from around 9:00am to 4:00pm only.

Loving the queen sized bed we have in room 301. :) Very comfy indeed!

The room is actually divided into two parts.

For foreigners, don't worry! They have cable tv. :) And oh, there's the 2nd door connecting to the bed room/study table.

Yes, there's an extra tv in the bed room. ;)

Bangkok is a tropical country so warm weather is expected. The condo-hotel is not centralized, good thing they provided 2 split-type ACs in the room.

Mini walk-in closet is connected to the room and...

... the bathroom. :)

For those who prefer to stay in and cook their meals, you may cook in your mini kitchen.

Here's a sneak peek of our room in Baan K Residence. Enjoy!

I'm definitely impressed by the rooms in Baan K Residence. No wonder they won as TripAdvisor's Travelers Choice Award for 2012. ;) Want to experience the beauty of Baan K Residence? Book now via Asiatravel.com! I suggest booking in advance so that you'll get the best rates for a much lower price.

By the way, you get a complimentary tour around the city if you book this hotel with Asiatravel.com. How cool is that? :) I love Asiatravel.com!

Wait, there's more! Let me show you guys what they serve for breakfast. :)

Had no idea they served buffet style breakfast. For 4 days and 3 nights, the hotel never fails to serve the same thing for breakfast (which I think is the only downside of our stay there). But I'm not complaining! Its better than having none at all. :)

Setting was perfect and complete. Fruits served were changed on a daily basis.

I'm definitely recommending Baan K Residence to those who plan to visit Bangkok really soon! ;) Watch out for my next Bangkok posts.
