It's More Fun in Boracay!

Boracay, World's Best Island this 2012 according to Travel and Leisure.

Hot days are expected when one lives in a tropical country like the Philippines. We have a total of 7,107 islands and one of them is the beautiful paradise of Boracay. ;) I'm sure other Travel Junkies out there have heard about this island located in the province of Aklan, just an hour away (via air to Caticlan/Kalibo) from Manila.

I've been to Boracay twice and it was actually my first time to go there during November. Rainy season in the Philippines usually takes place from June up to December but we're lucky the sun showed up despite the occasional rains brought by the storm located in the nearby province of Leyte. This time around though, I noticed that the sea is clearer and definitely has less moss compared to summer months of March-May.

Here's my friend Jamie enjoying his sunny morning near the famous grotto of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Station 1.

My friends stayed in Estacio Uno formerly known as Waling Waling Beach Resort. It is one of the many 5 star beachfront hotels/resort in Barangay Balabag, Station 1. What I like about this hotel is that they have a swimming pool, great alternative for people like me who's not fond of salt water. :)

Check out their swimming pool bar! I love it! Wouldn't mind staying here during happy hour. Lol.

If not swimming, we'd be hanging out in one of the cabanas sipping our piƱa colada's, mojito's, margarita's and milkshakes. Speaking of the latter, Estacio Uno's version of the choco-banana-peanut milkshake tastes soooo good it's maybe even better than the famous Jonah's. I think I ordered 3 of those in 1 sitting, it was that good! Trust me! ;)

For those who prefer to stay indoors, you'll definitely feel at home in Estacio Uno's superior rooms. The room we stayed in was big enough that it could probably accommodate 5-6 people. As you can see from the photo below, the room has 2 double beds and an extra sofa bed. Their television has cable offering not just the usual American and Filipino channels but Korean too!
