The Sitio Boracay

If traveling on a limited budget, the best place for you to get accommodations in Boracay is to stay in hotels either between Station 2-3. But if you've been to the island, I'm sure you guys know that that area tends to be more crowded as compared to Station 1 'coz of the resto bars/tourist shops. If you want the ultimate R&R for your vacation, I suggest you guys stay near Station 1. And guess what? I've discovered a hidden gem just few minutes walk from the beach and with cheap rates too! Check out The Sitio Boracay!

The Sitio is near the barangay hall and basketball court (a.k.a Balabag Plaza) of Brgy. Balabag right at the back of Station 1. From the jetty port, you may ask the tricycle drivers to turn right as soon as he sees Willys Beach Resort.

The Sitio has 4 cottages and we stayed in one of the family villas named Sampaguita (that's the 2nd cottage from the left).

Each villa/cottage has 2 floors so we're quite surprised how huge the place was. In Sampaguita villa, we had 3 double beds, 2 baths including a bathtub and an extra outdoor shower area, 2 flat screen cable TV's and 2 split-type ACs. Did I mention we also have our own living room/bar? Yes, its indeed huge. Definitely recommended for a large group!**

They also have extra cabanas outside where we had our first breakfast. Breakfast was very basic, sorry buffet lovers! You get to choose between American or Filipino food. Its better than none.

** Just a few reminders to fellow travel junkies and readers: The Sitio has an 11:00PM curfew for visitors (of the guests) and is very strict with extra pax. If you plan to invite others to stay in your villa/cottage, you must be ready to to shell out Php1,200.00 per person/per night.

I find that rate for extra pax quite a bit expensive for the location of the hotel and the breakfast they offer. But all in all, I'd still give 3 stars for The Sitio. :) My friend and I stayed there for 4D3N and paid less than Php11,000. That's still cheap if compared to other hotels in Station 1.

Anyways, if interested with this hotel, you may check-out the rates from my favorite booking site Asiatravel.com. Don't forget to download your FREE travel vouchers to get additional discounts! ;) Happy traveling, travel junkies!
