Japan Visa Perks

When it comes to visa applications, I take it one country at a time. As a Philippine passport holder, I'm required to apply whenever I want to go to the US, Canada, Australia, etc. As of the moment I only have a valid multiple-entry Japan visa and little did I know that it has perks too! Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently announced a visa exemption program which permits a duration of stay up to 30 days.

This is good news to all Philippine passport holders with existing visa from the said countries. I wasn't expecting this after the 2013 Balintang incident that caused tension between the Philippines and Taiwan.

That's me holding my passport and showing off that multiple-entry visa from Japan. Want to know how I applied? Click hereI now have the option to fly to Taiwan anytime I want. ;) All I have to do is to apply online for a Travel Authorization Certificate.

Again, this visa-free travel to Taiwan is applicable only to passport holders from India, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines who posses a valid visa from the following countries: USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, UK and other Schengen Convention countries.

Apart from Taiwan, Philippine passport holders also have visa-free access to more than 20 countries. Maldives made it to the list, maybe I should visit near year 'no? :)
