The Gift of Travel

I just found out that Nuffnang PH's #GLOBEProjectWonderful2014 has been extended. I rarely join blogging related contests but then I really wanted to answer this question: “If there is one thing you can give to the Philippines, what is that gift?”

For the past few years, I've been blessed by being able to travel in and out of the country. :)

So if given the opportunity to actually give something back to the country, I want each and every Filipino to experience travelling not just within the Philippines but also around the world! I believe that traveling has thought me to become a better person, mas naging disiplinado. Sometimes I can't help but admire the countries I visit specially those na medyo first world, hoping that one day we'll be as good as them. If kaya nila, kaya rin nating mga Pilipino di ba? :)
The Philippines definitely has a lot more to offer lalo na in terms of travel and tourism. Sa 7,107 islands, ewan ko na lang if maubusan ka pa ng gagawin dito sa Pilipinas. Hehe. ;) Anyway, I know it might take forever for the Philippines to get there but I'm hopeful na sana within my lifetime. My advice is to always think positive, respect everything (people, nature, time, etc.) and love your country.

How about you fellow travel junkies? If there is one thing you can give to the Philippines, what is that gift? :)

  1. If there’s one thing that I can give my dear country that would be …. The gift of Health.

I want to do a medical mission with the help of Nuffnang Philippines and Globe thru #GLOBEProjectWonderful2014

Health is wealth. No amount of money, time and effort can ever, ever, bring the best of your health back, once it’s gone.

In my 6 years of practice as a nurse, I have seen how our healthcare system struggles to provide quality care for our countrymen, may it be in manpower, medicines, or equipments both in the community and hospital.

I’ve seen people deteriorating day by day because they can’t afford to go to a doctor. I’ve seen patients die because their families didn’t have enough money to buy basic medicines. I’ve also seen families giving up their sick loved ones and literally, waited for their last breathes, since they cannot afford another day for the life support of the deteriorating loved one.

I am believing that we can do something about this. One of those needy, ailing, indigent patients could be your mom, dad, grandparent, relative, dear friend, loved one…

In short, we are all CONNECTED, one way or another. So it is not just a matter of “about them” because it is ABOUT US — ALL OF US.
